ASA Awards First Ad Valorem/Mass Appraisal Specialty Designation to Michigan Assessor

Apr 05, 2013

The American Society of Appraisers is pleased to announce the awarding of its first Ad Valorem/Mass Appraisal specialty designation offered by the Society's Real Property discipline to Independence Township, Michigan based Kristen Sieloff.

Ms. Sieloff serves as the town's Director of Assessing and holds an MMAO(4) – the highest level of assessment certification in the state of Michigan. She has more then 20 years experience as an assessor and is a member of the Michigan Assessors Association, where she has served as an instructor for the association's state assessor certification program.

"We are honored to award our first Ad Valorem/Mass Appraisal specialty designation to someone of Ms. Sieloff's caliber," says Samuel F. Luceno, FASA Chair of ASA's Real Property Discipline Committee. "Her expertise, experience and desire to pursue ASA's new specialty are a direct testament to the value and prestige of our Society's latest designation"

"Professionals like Ms. Sieloff are perfect candidates for ASA's newest designation," says Paul D. Roberts, ASA Discipline Governor for ASA's Real Property Discipline Committee. "Their work experience, training or membership in compeer organizations like the Michigan Assessors Association could count towards program requirements."

In efforts to promote the new specialty designation to assessors and private practice mass appraisers, the Society's Real Property discipline and Detroit Chapter will collaborate to host two local educational events, including:
