The American Society of Appraisers' Personal Property / Gems & Jewelry courses are offered in partnership with a select group of universities around the United States.
Important information regarding registration and required textbooks:
- Students must register directly with the university
- Students will be issued a course manual on the first day of class
- For PP/GJ 201:
- The textbook will be provided your first day of class
- There are no advance assignments
- For all other classes:
- Textbooks should be purchased in advance from ASA
- There are reading assignments which should be completed prior to the first day of class
- Bring your textbooks to class

Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) (PP/GJ)
ASA's educational partner in the northeastern United States is the Rhode Island School of Design, a well-respected education leader in the field of fine and applied art. This partnership began in December 2001 when ASA's series of four personal property Principles of Valuation courses became the foundation of a new Rhode Island School of Design certificate program in personal property appraisal.
RISD is located in a convenient and picturesque section of Providence, R.I., close to Brown University.
