Pertinent valuation approaches
and methods utilized in valuing different types of tangible personal
property, e.g., artwork; general contents of private and public spaces; furniture,
fixtures, and equipment; and computers and high-tech personal property are
discussed within the framework of the four pillars of the healthcare industry
(i.e., regulatory, reimbursement, competition and technology). The machinery
and technical specialties (MTS) and personal property (PP) disciplines will
be examined. The importance of MTS appraisers and PP appraisers
working with appraisers in other appraisal disciplines in order to provide an
enhanced scope, diversity of knowledge and breadth of experience (to the benefit of both
the appraisers and the client) will be emphasized.
