7:00am-8:30am     Keynote Address: Entering a New Era by Mekael Teshome - The November elections ushered in a new era with major policy changes now on the horizon. Join PNC Economist Mekael Teshome for a discussion of the economic outlook in this new environment. In this enlightening session he'll review the U.S. and global economic outlooks; examine how changes to tax, trade and fiscal policies impact the economic outlook; and identify balance of risks facing policymakers.

8:50am-9:40am     Changing Market Landscape and Appraisal Challenges in the Plastics Industry by Kenneth M. Heyse, ASA - This session will address the recent downturn in Capacity Utilization in Plastics Processing- Is it a long term trend or a short term correction? Forecast data on the Housing Market, Consumer Packaging and other main markets for Plastics Products will be discussed along with their potential impacts on values. The potential renegotiation of NAFTA and how it may affect the Plastics Industry will be presented. Other topics will include the effects of exchange rates on replacement cost new in major segments, and how imported Chinese machinery is driving replacement cost new down and negatively impacting used machinery values in some sectors. Case studies will be discussed where imported machinery from China has been a success, and where it has been problematic, especially from the asset based lending collateral evaluation perspective.
       
9:40am-10:30am     State of the Transportation Industry by Michael J. Holck, ASA - Learn more about the current trends that drive value in the transportation industry. This session will provide insight into the components that increase or decrease the value of a truck or trailer.

10:50am-11:40am     State of the Construction Industry by Joe Santora, ASA - What are the current market conditions and trends that are currently driving value in the construction industry? This session will provide insight into equipment specs,  what to look for, as well as what ads or takes away from value.

1:15pm-2:05pm     An Overview of Common Radiology and Endoscopy Equipment by Douglas R. Krieser, ASAHealthcare is constantly changing. The values of equipment and the anticipated use of equipment within healthcare also changes frequently. Some of the value drivers of medical equipment are the same as value drivers for other equipment we appraise. However, there are unique drivers such as Medicare reimbursements and government regulations which also influence value. This presentation will provide a brief overview of two common types of medical equipment, C-arms/radiology equipment and endoscopy equipment, but the trends and data can be applied to many different types of medical equipment.

2:30pm-3:20pm     Asset Management Trends in Energy Finance by Scott Schauer  - This session will offer a current, brief practical discussion on key topics regarding energy related assets from a portfolio/asset management perspective. Current industry and market trends as well as short term forecast for various energy related assets including oil and gas drilling, extraction/workover, hydraulic fracturing, gas compression and related assets. Valuation, market and equipment supply/demand trends will be covered at a fairly high level using recent experience and market observations from an active and sizable energy equipment finance portfolio.
       
3:20pm-4:10pm     Food Processing Market Trends by Otto Cuyler - Otto Cuyler of Cuyler FoodPro, a 3rd generation used food machinery dealer and appraiser in their 75th year, will present an overview of the food processing industry; touching on the various categories, such as meat and poultry, beverage, dairy, fruit and vegetable and others. The primary focus will be on the market for food processing and packaging machinery, trends of the last several years and forward looking projections. Mr. Cuyler will also discuss his company’s valuation methodology, forward looking residual value matrix and remarking strategies.

Sensenbrenner, ASASteven Robbins and Robert Mercagliano  - This enlightening panel will discuss the look, feel and content of appraisals and why some reports fall short of the mark. Learn more about Asset Manager’s lease transaction inspection/field work expectations, the importance of setting prospective values, and application and development nuances of “In Continued Use” values used in Lessor/Lessee end of lease negotiations.

Topics to include type of machine; technological considerations; market acceptability and economic considerations.

Desfor, ASA - From crashes of new helicopter prototypes to the grounding of most of the North Sea fleet, from the bankruptcy of the biggest offshore operator to that of the smallest manufacturer, from $30/bbl oil early 2015 to the OPEC deal in late 2016, for the past twelve months the helicopter market has dealt with its worst news since 2009.  What happened, when, and how did it affect the helicopter market? Can it recover, and if so, what will it take to get there?
