The New Orleans Chapter of the American Society of Appraisers is presenting the 7-Hour USPAP course for Personal Property, Gems & Jewelry, and Machinery and Technical Specialties appraisers.

This is a 7-hour USPAP Update course designed for personal property, gems & jewelry, and machinery & technical specialties professionals who have completed the full 15-hour USPAP course and only require updated information. This course focuses primarily on recent changes and major sections of the current edition of USPAP, that relate specifically to personal property, gems & jewelry, and machinery & technical specialties.

***Important Note for Real Property Appraisers: This USPAP course for Personal Property does NOT meet the Appraisal Foundation’s USPAP continuing education requirements for Real Property appraisers. This course will NOT be accepted by state real property licensing boards and will not be accepted for CPE credit or for state licensing of real property appraisers.***


Mona L. Miller, FASA, MGA— Master Gemologist Appraiser, has worked in the Gems and Jewelry Industry since 1981 as a jewelry buyer, retailer, appraiser, educator at the University level in continuing education and Certified USPAP Instructor with The Appraisal Foundation. Her specialty is period and antique jewelry. Mona is a Fellow of the Gemmological Association of Great Britain (FGA), Graduate Gemologist (GG) from the Gemological Institute of America, Fellow of the American Society of Appraisers (FASA). She has held many positions within the ASA, among them are past Regional & Discipline Governor, International Gems & Jewelry Education Chair. Currently Director on the ASA Educational Foundation and Constitution & By-laws Committee. She has developed and written several Gems and Jewelry Specialty classes that she teaches along with Principle of Valuation (POV 201), USPAP and Certified Instructor for Oregon and Washington Insurance Professionals.
