The NorCal Chapter of the American Society of Appraisers is holding an ASA Speaker Series event on Thursday, May 3, 2018 in San Fransisco, California.

​ASA ​NorCal ​chapter ​and ​several ​sponsors ​are ​pleased ​to ​present ​an ​informal ​and ​interactive ​forum ​hosted ​by ​Jeffrey ​Tarbell, ​ASA, ​the ​ASA ​International ​Business ​Valuation ​Discipline ​Committee ​Chair, ​on ​the ​topic ​of ​“The ​Past, ​Present ​and ​Future ​of ​the ​Business ​Valuation ​Profession.” ​ ​The ​panel ​will ​include ​three ​nationally-recognized ​speakers ​for ​an ​event ​that ​offers ​our ​local ​chapter ​a ​rare ​opportunity ​to ​get ​insight ​into ​the ​business ​valuation ​profession, ​where ​it ​is ​going ​and ​what ​we ​have ​learned ​from ​where ​it ​has ​been.

Speakers

Jeffrey Tarbell, ASA, CFA— is a Director in Houlihan Lokey’s Financial Advisory Services business. He has more than 27 years of experience providing valuation and financial opinions to private and publicly traded companies and has earned a B.S. and an MBA degree. He speaks frequently on securities valuation, capital markets, other financial issues and has testified in various legal forums, as well as in arbitration, mediation, and deposition proceedings. He also frequently serves as a consultant to lawyers during litigation and dispute resolution.

Bob P. Schweihs, ASA— is Managing Director of Willamette Management Associates. He has an MBA in Economics and Finance, and Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, and is a member of The ESOP Association and the Institute for Professionals in Taxation. He has performed various types of valuation and economic analysis assignments, and has also provided expert testimony in state and federal courts. Bob has done business, stock, and intangible asset valuations for clients

Roger J. Grabowski, FASA— is a Managing Director with Duff & Phelps and has directed valuations of businesses, interests in businesses, intellectual property, intangible assets, real property and machinery and equipment. He has testified in court as an expert witness on matters of solvency, the value of closely held businesses and business interests, valuation and amortization of intangible assets and other valuation issues.

Mark L. Zyla, ASA— is a Managing Director of Acuitas, Inc. an Atlanta, Georgia based valuation and litigation consultancy firm. He received a BBA degree and an MBA degree in Finance, and has completed the Mergers and Acquisitions Program and the Valuation Program. He has provided valuation consulting for the purposes of mergers and acquisitions, financial reporting, tax planning and corporate recapitalizations, as well as valuing various types of intellectual property and other intangible assets. Mark Zyla is a frequent presenter and author on valuation issues.
