The Wisconsin Chapter of the American Society of Appraisers is presenting the Role of Terms in Business Valuation session on May 18, 2018 in Milwaukee, WI.

The Chapter is proud to have longtime member John Emory Jr. in to speak on the role of purchase agreement terms in business valuation and how companies are actually sold. He will share his perspective and provide examples of the interaction of price and terms based on more than 20 years’ experience negotiating business sale transactions as an investment banker, business appraiser, and former business attorney.


John Emory Jr.— Mr. Emory provides merger and acquisition advisory and business valuation services as the President of Emory & Co. He has extensive experience, providing middle-market M&A advisory and business valuation services. He is the author of many published works and has lectured on M&A and valuation topics across the United States and in China. He has testified as a business valuation expert at trials, arbitrations, and depositions. Prior to co-founding Emory & Co., he worked as an attorney with Michael Best & Friedrich LLP, where he focused on mergers and acquisitions, and bank financing transactions. He received an MBA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, a JD cum laude from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and an AB from Stanford University with majors in Economics and History.
