Jim Andersen is a shareholder in the Consulting/Business Valuation and Litigation practice area of Burr Pilger Mayer, Inc. Over the past 20 years, he has been involved in over 700 business valuation and litigation assignments and has testified as an expert witness in various counties throughout California. Jim's business valuation experience has included assignments for merger and acquisition transactions, buy/sell agreements, dissenting shareholder actions, marital dissolutions, and estate and gift tax.
Prior to merging with Burr Pilger Mayer, Jim was the founding partner of Andersen & Company LLP. He is past chair of the CalCPA’s Litigation Sections’ Business Valuation Section and is a board member of the Litigation Sections Steering Committee. He also chaired the 2008 AICPA/ASA National Business Valuation Conference.
Jim is an instructor for both the AICPA and California CPA Education Foundation on various business valuation topics. His experience includes co-authoring and teaching the six day core business valuation training curriculum for the California CPA Society as well as a course on business succession planning.
