This panel will focus on the efforts of the AICPA task force which is revising the "IPR&D Practice Aid" originally published in 2001. Changes in the accounting literature, which affect business combinations, fair value measurement and IPR&D specifically have combined to create a need for a revision in this important document. The panel will discuss specific key issues which are being addressed in the updated document, both from an accounting and valuation perspective. Finally, the timeline for exposure and eventual publication of the revised practice aid will be outlined.
