ASA to Offer Machinery & Equipment Valuation Classes in London, Milan, Rome, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Melbourne, Japan and South Africa.

December 11, 2012 (Reston, VA) The American Society of Appraisers is pleased to announce the offering of machinery and equipment valuation classes in London, Milan, Rome, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Melbourne, Japan and South Africa next year.

The classes are part of the Society’s Principles of Valuation (POV) course series that prepares students to become an appraisal professional and helps pave the way to earning an Accredited Member (AM) or Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA) designation by the Society. Advanced specialty courses will be also be held including topics on valuing marine vessels, mines and equipment and aircraft.

“ASA has become increasingly involved in appraiser education abroad,” says Chair of the Society’s Machinery and Technical Specialties Discipline, Richard Berkemeier, ASA. “A new world-wide market for appraisal services has been created. It’s a market that offers the Society unprecedented opportunities.”

Leslie Miles, Jr., FASA agrees saying, “ASA has built a solid international reputation for providing exceptionally developed courses and well-qualified instructors.” Miles of Rowlett, Texas based Asset Valuation Source, has been an Accredited Senior Appraiser for more than 35 years and specializes in machinery and equipment. He is also an instructor for the Society who recently returned from trips to Japan and Lagos, Nigeria.

“There is a global demand for highly educated, highly qualified and ethical appraisers,” adds David Crick, ASA, a Valuer with Lloyds Asset Services based in Queensland, Australia, and President of ASA’s Australia Chapter. “ASA is committed to providing the educational program excellence to meet this demand.”
