A resolution was recently drafted by ASA’s Chief Executive Officer Jim Hirt regarding the formation of a new ASA European Chapter. The resolution was resolved by Region 2 Governor Mike Pratt, ASA and seconded by Region 5 Governor Blake J. Runckel, ASA and formally approved by ASA’s Board of Governors late January.
The request to charter a chapter in Europe stems from the increased efforts by ASA to grow its membership base outside of North America. ASA has been working with Jan Marek, ASA from Deloitte in the Czech Republic who has had great success in recruiting interested ASA members.
Interest in the new chapter is all ready building. To date more than 30 members have expressed interest in joining the chapter and come from 13 different European countries, including: Albania, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Latvia, Netherlands, Poland, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Ukraine, United Kingdom and the Russian Federation.
