ASA to Present Webinar on Complying with USPAP in a Litigation Setting

The American Society of Appraisers will air Complying with USPAP in a Litigation Setting on Monday, June 27, 2016 from 1:00p.m. – 2:30p.m. ET.

Designed for appraisers at all levels, as well as appraisal users and other stakeholders, this hour and half webinar will discuss compliance with USPAP in a litigation setting, the many myths about what USPAP requires and the key areas where USPAP and litigation intersect including, opting out of USPAP if not required by regulation or law with client consent, questions on calculations and USPAP compliance and the current thinking on “draft” reports.

The webinar will be presented by Jay E. Fishman, FASA, who has been actively engaged in the appraisal profession since 1974. He has been qualified as an expert witness on business valuation matters in eleven states, and frequently serves as a court appointed expert. In addition, he has taught courses on business valuation for the IRS, the AICPA, and the National Judicial College. Mr. Fishman is the Past Chair of the American Society of Appraisers' Business Valuation Committee. He is the co-author, with Shannon Pratt, of the Guide to Business Valuation, and co-author, with Shannon Pratt and William Morrison of Standards of Value: Theory and Applications. He is also a member of the Appraisal Standards Board.
