Earn 15 Professional Continuing Education Hours at the ASA Pre-Conference with the University of California, Irvine Extension Certificate Program in Appraisal Studies in Fine & Decorative Arts.
Charitable Contributions & Estate Tax: Are You Qualified?
For the first time since 1969, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS has changed the rules governing charitable
giving and estate tax. As a result of the Pension Protection Act passed in 2006 by Congress, all appraisers must
be in compliance and knowledgeable in following new and existing laws covering the donation and estate tax of art,
antiques, fine and decorative arts. Are you a "qualified appraiser" and do your appraisal reports meet the
Qualified Appraisal Requirements as outlined by the IRS? Identify the professional qualifications necessary and
IRS definitions for "statement of proof," "fair market value," "useable condition," and others so you can stay
ahead of your competition. Existing IRS rules and changed rules will be examined and discussed.

Everyone is welcome!
Morning will find us catching the waves- if only from our air-conditioned coach as we motor to the
Getty's newly renovated, epic Roman Villa at Malibu. The Getty Antiquities Collection is here-in all its glory
and controversy. Judge for yourself. Are the critics right? Is the Kouros live, or is it Memorex?
Overlooking the beach where James Mason walks into the surf in "A Star is Born," we'll lunch and the remove
to the Getty Center in Brentwood.
A trip up the hill by monorail brings us to world class fine art, antiques, decorative arts, and photography,
from a perch abvove city and seat and where the Robert Irwin-designed garden and the Richard Meier architecture are
part of the show.
