Continuing Education Credit

ASA Reaccreditation Opportunities

Conference attendees may request reaccreditation for attending educational sessions. A reaccreditation credit request form will be included in your on-site registration notebook.

Additional 3 hours of CE Credit

Members holding an ASA designation (AM, ASA, FASA) will be awarded an additional 3 hours of continuing education (CE) credit for verified attendance at all continuing education offerings (including the Multidiscipline General Session) for any discipline.

In addition, attendees may receive up to 15 hours of credit toward reaccreditation by attending the USPAP course on August 2–3, 2008. For more information on taking this exam, please contact Monica Tollander at (800) 272-8258, ext. 113.

Continuing Education Credit for RP Appraisers

Many states require providers of continuing education courses in valuation studies to show proof that participants seeking continuing education credit have attended courses in their entirety.

Therefore, all RP appraisers will be provided a log sheet stamped at the conclusion of every session attended. Many state boards require that attendance be reported immediately following the conference. To ensure that you receive credit, please return your log sheet to the ASA education department promptly.

Note: If this sheet is not properly stamped or if you lose it, ASA will not be able to verify that you attended the sessions and you will not be able to receive credit for them.  Please hold on to your log sheets!

Continuing Education Credit for CPAs

Many states require providers of continuing education courses for CPAs to show proof that participants seeking continuing education credit attend sessions in their entirety. These states require ASA to maintain duplicate CPE credit forms as proof that attendees were present at education sessions for which credit is being sought. Therefore, all CPA appraisers must submit a signed original of the CPE credit form and keep the duplicate for their files. Your state board of accountancy is the final authority for the number of credit hours allowed for a particular program.

ASA also provides a universal reaccreditation form to everyone attending the conference. These forms will be provided in your conference binder.

National Registry of CPE SponsorsThe American Society of Appraisers is registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) as a sponsor of continuing professional education on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors. State boards of accountancy have final authority on the acceptance of individual courses for CPE credit. Complaints regarding registered sponsors may be addressed to the National Registry of CPE Sponsors, 150 Fourth Ave. N., Nashville, TN 37219-2417; Web site: www.nasba.org.
