Become an ARM Appraiser

  • Are you ready to offer appraisal review services to current and new clients?
  • Are you currently writing reviews and ready to take your expertise to the next level with ARM methodology and USPAP compliance?
  • Are you currently an Accredited Senior Appraiser?
  • Are you a non-ASA member curious about how Appraisal Review competency can help you?

ARM Pathways Toward Membership and Credentialing

ASA offers several pathways toward accreditation for candidates, current Accredited Senior Appraisers in disciplines other than ARM, and for non-ASA or other non-appraisal professionals.

‘Discipline-Specific ARM’ Specialty Designation

Members already designated as Accredited Senior Appraisers may add the ARM designation to their existing discipline designation.  This “discipline-specific” ARM Specialty Designation is obtained through successful completion of the AR201 and AR204 Principles of Valuation (POV) courses, the approval of a written review report submitted to the ARM Board of Examiners, and submission of an accreditation application and any required accompanying information.

‘Full ARM’ Designation

Candidates who have passed the four ARM Principles of Valuation course (AR201-204) and have at least two (2) years of full time appraisal review experience may apply for the “Full ARM” Accredited Member (AM) Designation.  Those with at least five ( 5) years of full-time appraisal review experience may apply for the “Full ARM” Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA) Designation.

Accredited Senior Appraisers who are involved in complex, multidisciplined appraisal assignments may prefer to earn the ‘full ARM’ Accredited Senior Appraiser Designation by completing the four ARM POV courses (AR201-204).

ARM Certificate of Completion

Non-ASA or non-appraisal professionals interested in an ARM competency may earn an ARM Certificate of Completion through the successful completion of ARM POV courses AR201 and AR204.  Please contact ASAʼs credentialing Department for more information.
