Proficiency Requirement

ASA requires that you demonstrate your appraisal proficiency by taking and passing the four Principles of Valuation (POV) courses or if avalable the eight-hour accreditation examination in your discipline. To order an Education Catalog, call (800) ASA-VALU. If you have taken courses with another organization, you may be able to accredit under the Equivalency Program.

Please Note: If you are a Candidate in Gems & Jewelry, Real Property, Machinery & Technical Specialties or Personal Property, you may also have to take and pass a specialty examination or a comprehensive examination. For more information, call your discipline's accreditation specialist.
