From the Chair
So, one conference ends and it’s time to start planning for the next. For those who expressed an interest in serving on the conference committee, I wish I could have picked you all. However, I will keep all of your information for future years. The 2013 planning committee has been selected and is already busy at work planning the conference. The committee consists of the following individuals:
| Bryce Erickson, ASA, Chair | Carol Klug, ASA |
| Lisa Cruikshank, ASA | Bruce Johnson, ASA |
| Susan Saidens, ASA | Jeff Tarbell, ASA |
| Lee Russell, ASA | Mark Zyla, ASA |
| David Smith, ASA | Todd Burchett, ASA |
I thank them all for stepping up and helping out. The committee will be meeting in January to plan the agenda, so if you have any thoughts on topics or speakers, please make sure to e-mail me or Bryce Erickson so the committee can consider your thoughts. The 2013 conference will be co-located with ASA’s international conference again, so if you have any ideas for multi-discipline sessions, provide those as well.
As you all know, Business Valuation Review is now a paperless journal. We are still working out the kinks with our vendor on members being notified that the new journal is online (no, even I haven’t been notified, so don’t feel alone). Anyway, for those who have subscriptions, you can access all four 2011 journals and the Spring 2012 journal by going to www.bvreview.org.
In addition to the online version of the recent journals, ASA has a number of the print journals in its inventory. Although we do not have all of the journals, we have most of them. For anyone who is interested in receiving an almost full set of the print journals, we are clearing them out for $150 per set plus shipping costs. It’s interesting to read through old journals to see what the historical perspective was on various issues and how they have changed over time. If you are interested in purchasing them, please contact Susan Houchins at ASA headquarters. This offer is good through the end of the year.
I don’t know about the rest of you, but I’m looking forward to spending Thanksgiving with my family. It’s been a great year and I feel like I have so much to be thankful for. I hope that is true for all of you as well and I wish you all a safe and happy holiday season. Enjoy your turkey!
