ASA Signs MOU with Largest Pan American Valuation Professional Organization

The American Society of Appraisers (ASA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Unión Panamericana de Asociaciones de Valuación (UPAV).

The purpose of this Memorandum of Understanding is to further develop the relationship between ASA and Unión Panamericana de Asociaciones de Valuación (UPAV), and to pursue future collaboration in areas of mutual interest in the furtherance of the valuation profession.

Key objectives outlined in the MOU will focus on the areas of curriculum cooperation, recognition, continuous professional development, conferences, events and webinars and thought leadership.

Key objectives outlined in the MOU will focus on the areas of co-hosting continuing education courses; sponsoring joint professional events; exploring joint credentialing programs or related equivalency agreements; and working together on valuation industry standards and research.

Johnnie White, ASA’s CEO commented on the importance of the partnership by stating “UPAV’s strong commitment to the highest levels of academic training, ethics and standards, mirror ASA’s global mission to foster public trust of our members and the appraisal profession.” White continued adding “Their broad representation spanning 18 countries will also introduce ASA to a new and growing area of the world.”

José Alberto Beras, UPAV’s President also commented by stating “ASA’s global reputation for educational excellence compliments our organization’s goals and commitments to our members and each of their respective countries.

Through Memorandums of Understanding (“MOUs”) or equivalency/reciprocity agreements; the hosting of joint events, or the development and implementation of joint education and credentialing programs and services, our strategic partners help ASA fulfill its mission.
