Course Description:
The student can expect an in-depth look at a complete open pit facility,
including:
- Mine safety practices including general safety;
personal protective equipment (PPE) and Slope safety issues of the mining
operations which will give the student an idea of what questions to ask about
the mine operations from the stand point of ton per day and equipment matching
for "through put" in the crushing and milling process.
- What the Valuer will encounter when discussing the
general ledger and tax records with the client. The presenter will use exact
examples and ledger entries that he has come across.
- How to read drawings from the engineering department
and what to look for on the drawings.
- Flow sheets will be covered for processes in crushing,
conveying, milling, flotation and solvent extraction electrowinning process.
- The problems will be on some buildings, haul trucks,
shovels and water systems with examples of deep water wells and fire systems.
- Current pricing material (US) and other reference
material.
- Time permitting, go over life cycle costing and working examples.
