Critical to the success of an expert witness is that the
expert be both "right" and also believed by the trier of fact. This
seminar provides techniques to help establish and maintain credibility as an
expert witness. Topics to be discussed include due diligence prior to
engagement of services, when and how to leave opinions "open ended," substance
of retainer agreements, money management, and scope of designation.
In addition to these substantive topics specifically pertaining to expert
retention and services to be provided, we will cover how to make dynamic
impressions in the way of dress, demeanor, posture, etc. The seminar will conclude by discussing and explaining how to minimize liability.

Andrew Kaplan | Owner/Attorney | Kaplan Law Firm
Mr. Kaplan is the founder of The Kaplan Law Firm and built a national
practice with a focus on serving the compressed gas industry over the past 30
years. He has represented industry clients of all sizes in more than 38
states. Mr. Kaplan regularly represents a number of companies with legal
issues including drafting business forms, collections, competitive business
practices, trade secret claims, customer lists, non-compete issues, mergers and
acquisitions for the purchase and sale of all or a segment of Client's business;
defense of tort liability/indemnity claims involved in industrial plants,
loading and transporting operations, catastrophic explosions, product liability,
employment matters such as wrongful termination, discrimination, wage and
hour violations and workers’ compensation claims, compliance for OSHA, DOT,
HazMat and Code of Federal Regulations. He has successfully defended and
prosecuted numerous state and federal bench and jury trials and arbitrations
across the Country.
