Webinar Course Description
You are invited to participate, with your colleagues, in a large group virtual session on unconscious bias that has been tailored for the appraiser profession.
A spotlight has been put on the profession. We now have an opportunity to
raise awareness, improve understanding, and build new skills. At times like this
it is important to provide diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) training that
acknowledges today's unique realities. With a heightened awareness of how
preferences and biases can impact decision-making, in this virtual session we
will thoughtfully and respectfully visit the impact of multiple crises - from
COVID-19, economic uncertainty, and social unrest - as a context for learning
about unconscious bias.
Unconscious bias often shows up in subtle ways. We will learn what
unconscious bias is, why it matters, and our individual and collective
responsibilities as appraisal professionals for moving forward with intention
and purpose.
Course Objectives
- Heighten understanding of unconcious preferences and
biases - we all have them
- Learn to recognize unconscious biases that may
negatively impact decision-making and effective interactions with colleagues,
customers, and stakeholders
- Explore practical exampes and learn how to mitigate our unconscious
biases
