This course will spend 3 hours demonstrating printmaking techniques including linocut and woodcut, monotypes, collagraphs and drypoint, with discussion time for lithography, silkscreen and the more esoteric techniques. A handbook of Print Terms and a brief history will accompany this morning presentation. After lunch, Mr. Burton Moore, Managing Director of the Audubon Gallery in Charleston, SC will discuss the numerous editions of Audubon (and other botanical artists') prints, with multiple examples available for hands-on inspection by the participants. Lise Johnson and Christina Whitson will have examples of different prints for discussions of technique identification, red-flags, and more.
