This webinar will outline the application process for ASA membership with a specific focus on reciprocity for experienced business valuation practitioners. Business Valuation Committee chair Jeff Tarbell, ASA will moderate a 30-minute “speed panel” consisting of four experienced ASA leaders followed by 30 minutes allotted to Q&A:

  • Ron Seigneur, ASA, CPA/ABV will discuss basic requirements for membership and the Professional Education Equivalency Certification Program (PEECP)
  • Carla Glass, FASA will discuss the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) examination
  • Bill Quackenbush, ASA will discuss the appraisal report submission and review process
  • Jeffrey S. Tarbell, ASA, CFA will discuss the ethics examination, special discounts for new applicants, and more.

Instructor Information

Jeffrey S. Tarbell, ASA, CFA is a Director in Houlihan Lokey’s Financial Advisory Services business. He has more than 28 years of experience providing valuation and financial opinions to private and publicly traded companies. He is an accredited senior appraiser (ASA), certified in business valuation, of the American Society of Appraisers and the Chair of its Business Valuation Committee. He also holds the designation of Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) of the CFA Institute and is the former Chair of the Valuation Advisory Committee of The ESOP Association. Jeff has testified in various legal forums, including state and federal courts, the U.S. Tax Court, the U.S. Congress, and the U.S. Department of Labor, as well as in arbitration, mediation, and deposition proceedings.

Ronald L. Seigneur, ASA, CPA/ABV, CFF, CVA, CGMA Ron is Managing Partner of Seigneur Gustafson LLP, based in Lakewood Colorado, where he is responsible for financial forensics, business and intellectual property valuation, practice management consulting and exit & succession planning services.  He is co-author of Financial Valuations: Applications and Models, published by John Wiley & Sons and Reasonable Compensation: Applications and Analysis for Management, Valuation and Tax, published by Business Valuation Resources. 

Carla Glass, FASA, CFA is a Managing Director at Meyers, Harrison & Pia Valuation and Litigation Support, LLC, a firm specializing in business valuation, economic damages, and litigation support services. Ms. Glass has more than twenty-five years of experience in the valuation of businesses, partnerships, employee stock ownership plans, debt, derivative securities, intellectual property, and other intangible assets in a wide range of industries. She has performed valuations of business interests for a variety of purposes including, but not limited to, gift and estate tax, financial reporting, corporate and partnership reorganizations, minority shareholder rights, bankruptcy proceedings, merger and acquisition analysis, and litigation.

William C. Quackenbush, ASA, MCBA, BCA, ABAR is a director at Advent Valuation Advisors with 40 years of business experience, and holds several valuation-related credentials, including the Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA) in Business Valuation, the Master Certified Business Appraiser (MCBA), the Business Certified Appraiser (BCA), and the Accredited in Business Appraisal Review (ABAR).  Mr. Quackenbush has provided expert witness testimony for the past 15 years in both Federal and New York State Supreme Court and also before the American Arbitration Association and in mediation cases. Mr. Quackenbush is a national instructor in Business Valuation for both the American Society of Appraisers and the Institute of Business Appraisers, and he is the author of one of the ASA’s credentialing courses and texts in Business Valuation.
