Session Description

This session will detail the ins and outs of being a valuation consultant in litigation and an expert witness, including the four required areas of knowledge, four problem areas for all valuation consultants, federal rules regarding expert testimony, and testimony, presentation, and cross examination basics. This course will also outline the USPAP criteria for appraisal reviews, the different ways these reviews are used and each use’s potential harm to the appraiser, the five overarching report requirements, the different specialty levels of an appraisal, and the different aspects of an appraisal that can be attacked – the appraiser, the appraisal, the appraisal report, and the reviews and consulting.
