Session Description

This session will discuss different price points for African tribal art as a way to illustrate how this market works. Mr. Dimondstein will cover a history of the African tribal art market, the different types of collectors within this market, and an explanation of the sophisticated forgery techniques that are used to successfully deceive. Included will be a focus on the problems associated with assigning values to pieces when most of what one sees are fake.
