ME212 is being
presented online via Zoom and will be taught by a live instructor over the course of (2) weeks. Students will meet virtually
with the instructor as scheduled for (4) hours each session, and engage in
discussions, exercises, and virtual breakout room session assignments. There are a total of (4) sessions. Students must participate in
each live session in order to complete the course and receive full credit.
Be sure to review the Series Schedule and requirements below prior to
registering.
Cancellations and refunds are not permitted one week before the start
of the course.

Appraisal Writing Handbook, by Alan Blankenship, PhD. (underline what
is unclear, and circle what is useful)
- A computer with word processing software such as
microsoft word, google docs, apple pages, etc., and knowledge of how to use a
computer, and internet access are required in
order to complete the course. Students must have the following available
for all sessions:
- Laptop or desktop computer with internet and webcam
access is required.
- A Gmail
account to access Google
Classroom for course assignments.

- Printed or electronic copy of all student materials (available once
eMaterials are posted via Google Classroom)
- Completed MTS writing guide (available once eMaterials are
posted)
- Familiarity with:

Instructor Information
Jack Young, ASA, CPA
Jack Young is an ASA Machinery & Equipment and Appraisal Review &
Management (ARM) and is also a CPA. Years after his audit position with
international firm KPMG, Jack worked for many years as an auctioneer and auction
manager where he discovered the equipment appraisal industry. His
extensive equipment appraisal experience includes expert witness and financial
reporting services. As of July 1, 2020 he is the past chair of the ASA’s
Appraisal Review & Management discipline committee and is an active member
and past president of the Northern California Chapter of the ASA. Please

Exam
In lieu of an exam, students must send a compliant redacted appraisal report you've recently completed to
the instructor via email in order to receive full credit for the class. "Redacted" means to
remove the name of the Client, Intended User, and Appraiser from the report or
any other information that may disclose these parties, pictures with company
logos, etc.
eMaterials
Each course registration includes electronic set of course materials
including handouts, pre-reads, references and any additional student information
as applicable that will be made available to
the students via Google Classroom. Once eMaterials have been posted for
access, courses are no longer refundable . Students are expected to
bring to each online session an electronic copy (loaded on a laptop or
mobile device) or a print copy of all course materials and handouts to use as a
reference for the webinar
sessions. For students choosing to print materials,
it is recommended that you adjust the print settings to print in black and white
(or grayscale) and consider printing double-sided on recycled paper.
