Theme: A New Frontier: Appraising in a World of Change

The American Society of Appraisers (ASA) is pleased to invite you to submit one or more session proposals for the 2026 ASA International Conference, coming to Fort Worth, Texas in 2026.

This year’s theme, A New Frontier: Appraising in a World of Change, highlights the evolving landscape of valuation and the skills appraisers need to lead through uncertainty, innovation, and global transformation. We’re seeking forward-thinking, engaging sessions that challenge assumptions, share real-world experience, and equip attendees with practical tools for right now and for the future.

Who Should Submit

We welcome proposals from practicing appraisers across all ASA disciplines Business Valuation (BV); Machinery & Technical Specialties (MTS); Personal Property (PP); Real Property (RP); Gems & Jewelry (GJ); Appraisal Review & Management (ARM) as well as:

  • Academics, researchers, and economists
  • Legal, tax, and regulatory professionals working with valuation
  • Lenders, investors, and financial professionals
  • Technology, data, and analytics providers (non-promotional content only)
  • Both seasoned presenters and first-time speakers are encouraged to apply

 

What We’re Looking For

Proposals should clearly connect to the conference theme: A New Frontier: Appraising in a World of Change

We’re especially interested in sessions that:

  • Address emerging trends and risks affecting valuation
  • Offer advanced techniques, tools, and frameworks
  • Highlight cross-disciplinary insights or collaborations
  • Present case studies that show how appraisers are adapting
  • Explore global, economic, and regulatory shifts
  • Examine the impact of technology, AI, and data on practice
  • Help attendees navigate uncertainty, volatility, and change

 

Session Types & Formats

We encourage a mix of formats to promote engagement and learning. Priority will be given to lively presentations that actively seek and encourage audience engagement and participation through various mediums.

  • Interactive workshops or labs
  • Panel discussions with diverse viewpoints
  • Case-study or “war story” sessions
  • Technical sessions / lectures
  • Cross-discipline sessions serving multiple appraisal specialties

 

Review Criteria

The ASA International Conference is a learning-focused, non-commercial program.

Sessions must be educational in nature.

  • Presentations that appear to promote a specific product, firm, or service will not be accepted.
  • Vendor and consultant perspectives are welcomed when content is balanced, objective, and supported by data and real-world experience.
Proposals will be evaluated based on:

  • Relevance to the conference theme and the realities of today’s appraisal landscape
  • Engagement potential (e.g., case studies, audience discussion, small group work, Q&A)
  • Educational value and practical applicability for attendees
  • Clarity of learning objectives
  • Depth and accuracy of technical content
  • Appeal to one or more ASA disciplines
  • Speaker expertise and qualifications

Deadlines are firm. Late or incomplete submissions may not be considered.

Please Note: You may submit more than one proposal; however, ASA reserves the right to limit the number of accepted sessions per speaker based on overall program balance.
