Personal property appraiser with experience in estates and division of property, charitable donations, insurance coverage and damage/loss. Clients include individuals, trustees, executors, museums. Property appraised includes specialty collections, antiques and designer decorative arts, household contents, antique clocks. 

 

Known as a "go to" person for help documenting the value of estates and unusual items.

 

Background

Accredited Senior Appraiser educated at Cornell University (A.B.) and Princeton University (M.A.), she was Curator/ Executive Director at The Time Museum (Rockford, Illinois) for twenty years before founding Timely Antique Appraisals in 2005. 

 

With continuing education in fine and decorative arts, she also teaches for ASA: Appraising Antique Clocks and other Time Measuring Instrument as well as Principles of Valuation core courses. Atwood is author of Zero Fair Market Value for Antiques? Active in professional associations, Patricia Atwood is currently a member of the Appraisal Standards Board of The Appraisal Foundation and a member of the IRS Advisory Council. She was President of the Chicago Chapter of the American Society of Appraisers (2011-2012) and served on ASA’s International Personal Property Committee.

 

Involved in local community service as well, Atwood has served as President of the Board of Trustees of the Rockford Art Museum, President of the Parent’s Board of the youth swim team at the YMCA of Rock River Valley and Chairman of the Board of Wesley Willows, a continuing care retirement community.
