Micheal R. Lohmeier is a high energy, versatile and results-oriented senior professional having significant expertise in valuation, property taxation, public administration, and organizational development. He is a highly proficient administrator and communicator with considerable aptitude in budget and finance, organizational development, intergovernmental relations, property tax laws and exemptions, and public administration. His background demonstrates an accomplished and superior leadership, knowledge, skill and ability, and commitment in providing the highest quality of professional property tax service to the public.

Professional Experience
City Assessor (Present), City of Auburn Hills, Auburn Hills, Michigan (Present).
Full time City Assessor charged with annually preparing the assessment roll and interpreting Michigan property tax laws with respects to their influence/impact on properties in the city. Works with other departments to ensure professional and smooth process where assessments and tax incentives involve assessment department.

Judge, Michigan Tax Tribunal, Lansing, Michigan.
Appointed by Governor to serve as "Tribunal Member" of Michigan’s highest tax court, the Michigan Tax Tribunal. Professional responsibilities included reviewing, making factual determinations, and resolving disputes relating to assessments, valuations, rates, equalization, special assessments, allocation, and refunds or re-determination of taxes including, but not limited to: determine subject matter jurisdiction on petitions filed; determine relevant evidence based on Tribunal’s Rules, Michigan Court Rules including Evidentiary Rules; determine taxable real and personal property values; determine valuations of real and personal property and non-property tax cases; determine tax, interest, and penalties for non-property tax matters; prepare and execute orders including: consent judgments, dismiss, reinstatement, reconsideration, rehearing, and final opinions; determine legality of poverty exemption guidelines and application of individuals’ income for poverty exemptions; review proposed opinions prepared by Administrative Law Judges; provide supervision, direction, and training to professional staff and interns and externs; determine validity for, and benefit of, special assessments; and provide representation to interested groups. Served on one of the largest cases in Michigan, Dow Chemical v. City of Midland, where the underlying dispute was real property versus personal property.

Senior Manager with responsibilities in overseeing valuation and property tax assignments on a national firm-wide basis.

Deputy Assessor (Commercial and Industrial Appraiser prior), City of Auburn Hills, Auburn Hills, Michigan.
Mr. Lohmeier began as the City’s Commercial/Industrial Appraiser and served as Deputy Assessor prior to his appointment to the Michigan Tax Tribunal.

Senior Appraiser/Principal, Stratford Group of Clarkston, Inc., Clarkston, Michigan.
Charged with complete responsibilities of appraisal division. Professional responsibilities included the organization, control, and direction of company resources for the completion of valuation and consultation assignments coupled with preparing and reviewing appraisal, appraisal review and appraisal consulting assignments.
