HERNDON, VA (September 12, 2025) – The American Society of Appraisers (ASA), a worldwide leader for valuation professionals, announces the signing of a Letter of Intent with the Asociatia Nationala a Evaluatorilor Autorizati din Romania (ANEVAR). This agreement marks an important step in expanding ASA’s global connections and supporting valuation professionals worldwide.
The signing event featured ASA Chief Executive Officer Guillermo Ortiz de Zárate and ANEVAR President Adrian Ioan Popa Bochis, joined by ANEVAR President-elect Ioan Bercu and ASA’s 2023-2024 President Garrett Schwartz, ASA. The agreement establishes new initiatives for joint education, collaborative research, professional development, and regular leadership dialogue, advancing shared goals for both organizations.
“ASA is committed to building meaningful international partnerships in valuation,” said Guillermo Ortiz de Zárate, Chief Executive Officer of ASA. “This agreement with ANEVAR reflects our deep dedication to connecting leaders, sharing expertise, and strengthening our professional community across borders. We are excited to work together and create new opportunities for valuation professionals around the world.”
This partnership will foster greater collaboration between ASA and ANEVAR through 2030 by supporting shared educational opportunities, joint professional events, and the exploration of credentialing and equivalency programs. It advances cooperation on industry standards and research, provides for annual leadership participation in international conferences, encourages engagement within global professional bodies such as IVSC and IIBV, and promotes the exchange of thought leadership through regular journal article contributions—setting the stage for continued growth and innovation within the valuation profession.
