Call for Articles


ASA members actively engage with some of today's most sophisticated and challenging valuation assignments and the MTS Journal provides members with a forum for sharing insights and experiences that contribute to the collective knowledge of our appraisal community.

We invite the submission and review of articles addressing professional valuation practices, specific valuation concepts, and methodologies.  

Article Submission Guidelines

To submit an article, please follow these instructions:
  • Submission Process: Please use ASA's online submission form to upload your completed article and related files.
  • Format: Please submit your article as a Microsoft Word document only.
  • Author Information: Include the author’s name, complete mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
  • Author Biography: Provide a brief biography (100 words or fewer) detailing your current employment, title, professional designations, and a digital photograph (JPEG preferred). You may also include a link to your ASA Profile, company website, or LinkedIn profile.
  • Length: Articles should be between 750 and 1,500 words. If you feel your article requires a different word count, please include an explanation with your submission.
  • Structure: Each article should include an abstract (2–3 sentences summarizing the article), an introduction, the main body, and a concluding paragraph.
  • Citations: Properly cite all referenced sources using endnotes.
  • Images: All photos and graphics must be high-quality JPEG files. They should be embedded within the Word document and also submitted as separate files.
  • Originality: All submissions must be the original work of the author. Articles must not contain assignment-specific or confidential information unless authorization for release is provided at the time of submission. Authors will be required to sign ASA’s Author Agreement, which will be provided upon article submission.
  • Editing & Publication: All articles will undergo professional editing. Authors will have the opportunity to review and approve edits; however, ASA reserves the right to make final editorial and publishing decisions. Please note that articles promoting businesses or personal services will not be considered for publication.
