Appraiser Profile:
Christy Vezolles, founder of Art Value LLC is an Accredited Senior Appraiser with the American Society of Appraisers.

With expertise in American fine arts and American Indian arts, Vezolles has been frequently published in American Fine Art, Native American Art, Native Peoples and Western Art Collector magazines. Her essay, A Lasting Legacy was included in The James T. Bialac Native American Art Collection, Selected Works, published by the University of Oklahoma Press.  In recognition of her expertise, she often serves as a judge for art shows and Indian markets, including SWAIA Indian Market in Santa Fe, and at the Heard Museum in Phoenix.

Vezolles is a Trustee of the Heard Museum in Phoenix, following several years as a docent and library volunteer. She serves on the National Advisory Board of the Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art in Indianapolis, and the Gilcrease Museum in Tulsa, as well as previously of the National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington D.C. She is a member of ArtTable, a prestigious national organization for professional women in the visual arts, based in New York.

Vezolles studied printmaking, ceramics and art history, earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. She taught at the University of Dayton and Sinclair Community College and has conducted workshops and seminars relating to American Indian art and culture at museums, schools, colleges and civic organizations.

In addition to her work in the art profession, Vezolles was employed as a paralegal/office manager at a private law office on the Navajo Nation in northeastern Arizona for ten years. There, in addition to honing her research and writing skills, she gained a broader perspective on Navajo and Hopi art.
