Tell us about your background with ASA. How did you first get involved?
I became involved with the ASA in 2008, joining the organization as part of my commitment to advancing my professional expertise in valuation. From the outset, I pursued formal accreditation, recognizing the importance of rigorous standards, structured training, and credentialed practice in building a strong foundation for my career in appraisal and fixed asset valuation.
Can you share a bit about your professional background?
I am a Managing Director in Kroll’s Fixed Asset Advisory Services practice, based in Toronto, where I lead engagements involving large‑scale asset valuation, insurance appraisal, and advisory work for complex industrial, energy, and infrastructure clients. With a career grounded in disciplined valuation standards — including my long-standing involvement with the American Society of Appraisers since 2008 — I bring deep technical expertise in fixed assets, risk mitigation, and capital-intensive operations. I work consistently focused on delivering clear, defensible valuations that support clients in managing risk, optimizing insurance coverage, and making informed asset-related decisions.
What are you most excited about working on during your term?
As Regional Governor of the ASA, I am most excited about strengthening the professional community, creating more meaningful opportunities for appraisers to connect, collaborate, and grow. I’m particularly focused on elevating the visibility of valuation professionals, expanding high‑quality education and accreditation pathways and supporting the next generation of appraisers. Above all, I am energized by the chance to help shape the direction of the organization and contribute to raising professional standards across the region.
Are there particular issues or opportunities you’re especially passionate about?I am especially passionate about strengthening the pipeline of future valuation professionals, expanding access to high‑quality education, and ensuring consistent professional standards across the appraisal community. I see a significant opportunity to expand ASA in International level, while also fostering greater collaboration across disciplines. I am committed to championing mentorship, improving member engagement, and supporting accreditation pathways that uphold the rigor and credibility of the profession. Ultimately, I am driven by the chance to help shape a stronger, more connected, and future‑ready appraisal community.
How do you hope the association will evolve over the next few years?
Over the next few years, I hope to see the ASA continue evolving into a more connected, forward‑looking, and modern professional community. I envision ASA expanding its role as a leader in global valuation standards, strengthening accreditation pathways, expanding international presence, and enhancing the visibility of multidisciplinary appraisal work. I am also passionate about ASA embracing emerging technologies, improving member engagement, and investing in the next generation of appraisers through stronger mentorship, education, and outreach. Ultimately, I want ASA to grow as a collaborative, innovative, and influential organization that supports its members while advancing the credibility and relevance of the appraisal profession.
What’s one message you’d like to share with our members as you begin your service?
As I begin my term as Regional Governor, my message to our members is simple: this is your professional community, and your voice matters.
